Child Therapist

Reports to: The Clinical Director
Classification: Hourly Paid ($35-$45/hr + pay in lieu of vacation), Requires Flexible hours
Position Reviewed: July 2018

We are currently accepting applications for a part-time psychotherapist who has specific qualifications for working with young children, teens and families. The position may be expanded to full time as the client base is developed.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience
  • A master’s degree in counselling and an appropriate combination of clinical training and experience in psychotherapy and child psychotherapy
  • Proof of registration or registration (qualifying) status with College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
Personal Attributes
  • A practicing Christian prepared to sign the CCO Statement of Faith
  • Demonstrated communication skills – oral and written
  • Evidence of being a team player willing to consult with colleagues and mentor students
Desirable
  • Bilingualism (French and English) preferred
  • Other languages including Arabic, Spanish an asset
  • Seminar Presentation Skills

CCO Receptionist and Intake Worker

Reports to: The CCO Office Manger and Clinical Director
Classification: Hourly Paid ($14-$16/hr + pay in lieu of vacation), Requires Flexible hours
Position Reviewed: July 2018

Key Commitments

Reporting to the CCO Office the Receptionist is responsible for answering phones, collecting intakes, managing electronic correspondence, collecting data and entering data into the Owl Practice and QuickBooks applications and providing in-house assistance with social media and internal computers applications. The position requires an ability to deal with people, a welcoming and supportive telephone and in- person manner, an understanding of confidentiality requirements, an ability to work under the pressure of competing demands and an understanding of general office procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

Receptionist and Administrative Activities
  • Communicate with clients, other employees, donors and community partners to direct and answer questions
  • Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages
  • Manage CCO passwords and voicemail greeting changes
  • Pick up sort and distribute incoming mail and manage outgoing mail
  • Assist with audio video setups for computer based education and any recording needs
  • Provide general office assistance and support to the ED, Office Manager and Therapists
  • Maintain the CCO website and Facebook page
  • Receive and address in order of priority, technical support requests/trouble calls from therapists
  • Assist the Office manager with the office business including data entry and generating reports in Quickbooks
  • Provide admin and finance support in the Office Manager’s absence
  • Train new staff/volunteers in receptionist.
Intake Worker
  • Answer telephone, e-mail and web based intake requests for services collecting data for case assignment
  • Explain the fee structure and prepare initial fee reduction and subsidy applications for ED approval
  • Work with the Clinical Director to assign cases to therapists according to direction and CCO guidelines
  • Input new client data into Owl Practice
  • Advise therapists in a timely manner of new case assignments
  • Maintain the intake Log and case number file
  • Make referrals to alternate agencies
Other
  • Act as back up for the Office Manager
  • Attend Staff Meetings as required
  • Perform other related duties

Qualifications:

Essential
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to learn the administrator role for Owl Practice and QuickBooks
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Evidence of being a team player able to work effectively with other support staff, counsellors, donors and volunteers in an open, respectful, friendly and cooperative manner
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to multi-task and thrive in a challenging and changing work environment
  • Demonstrated communication skills including an ability to express ideas and listen effectively in individual and group situations, on the telephone and other communications media
  • Willingness to take responsibility and direction
Desirable
  • Familiarity with basic accounting and/or QuickBooks
  • Bilingualism (English/French)

Confidentiality Agreement and Police Check
  • A confidentiality agreement related to standard staff, volunteer, client and donor information is required.
